What is Independent Legal Advice (ILA)?
Independent Legal Advice is advice given by a legal adviser who is entirely independent of the other parties to your transaction: your lender, your bank or the other side. Lenders require it to be sure you understand the document you are signing and are entering into it freely. Once you've received the advice, we issue a signed certificate confirming it.
Do you meet clients in person?
Our appointments take place by secure video call, which is accepted by the vast majority of UK lenders and means we can see you quickly, often the same day. If your lender specifically requires a wet-ink, in-person signature, contact us before booking and we'll advise on the best route.
How quickly can I get my certificate?
Your certificate is emailed the same working day as your appointment, on every service. That part never changes. What the fee changes is how soon we can see you: Priority Same-Day appointments are available today, Fast Track from the next working day, and Standard from two working days ahead.
Will my lender accept your certificate?
Our certificates are prepared to satisfy standard lender requirements and are relied on by borrowers completing with the UK's major lenders. If your lender has issued a specific form of certificate or wording, mention it in your booking notes and email the form to us at info@ilahub.com and we'll complete their form.
